The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
