Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Quran). 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
