HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
