The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
