The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and continuous shade, 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those on the right hand; 38
