The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
