The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 surely, your God is One, 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them, 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
