Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ha-Mim. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
