The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
