Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In an elevated garden, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
