Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 till you reached the grave. 2 Nay, you will soon come to know; 3 Indeed you will come to know soon. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)! 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
