The Thamud tribe denied the Noble Messengers. 141 When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 142 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 143 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 144 For this I ask of you no wage; my wage falls only upon the Lord of the Worlds. 145 "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here? 146 amidst gardens and fountains, 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 And you hew houses out of the mountains exultingly; 149 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 150 "And follow not the command of Al-Musrifun [i.e. their chiefs, leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners], 151 those who spread corruption in the land instead of putting things right." 152 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 153 You are a mere mortal like us. Show us a miracle if you are telling the Truth". 154 He said, “This is the she-camel – one day shall be her turn to drink, and on the other appointed day, shall be your turn.” 155 and do not touch her with malice so that there seize you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 156 But they hamstrung her, then regretted; 157 The punishment therefore seized them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 158 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
