The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who range themselves in rows; 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 and those who recite the Exhortation; 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them, 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 And our forefathers? 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
