The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
