Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ O People! Fear your Lord. The catastrophe of the Last Hour shall be terrible indeed: 1 The Day ye shall see it, every mother giving suck shall forget her suckling-babe, and every pregnant female shall drop her load (unformed): thou shalt see mankind as in a drunken riot, yet not drunk: but dreadful will be the Wrath of Allah. 2 Some people argue about God without knowledge and follow every rebellious devil. 3 (The devil) Upon whom is decreed that whoever befriends him, he will certainly mislead him and show him the path to hell. 4 O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind. 5 This is because Allah only is True and because He will revive the dead, and because He is Able to do all things. 6 And because the Hour will come, there is no doubt thereof; and because Allah will raise those who are in the graves. 7 Some people argue about God without knowledge, guidance, and an enlightening Book. 8 They turn away arrogantly, leading people astray from God's path. Such men shall incur disgrace in this life and taste the punishment of the Fire on the Day of Judgement. 9 That is on account of what you had done in the past; yet God is not unjust to His creatures. 10
