AND IT IS We who have built the universe with [Our creative] power; and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it. 47 And the earth! We have stretched it forth beneath; an excellent Spreader are We! 48 And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember. 49 Flee, therefore, to Allah. Surely I am a clear warner to you from Him; 50 And set not up with God another god; I am a clear warner from Him to you. 51 Even thus no apostle came to those before them but they said: "He is a sorcerer or a mad man." 52 Have they charged each other with this? Nay! they are an inordinate people. 53 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad), for thou art in no wise blameworthy, 54 Do, however, keep exhorting them; for exhortation benefits those endowed with faith. 55 We have created jinn and human beings only that they might worship Me. 56 I desire from them no provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. 57 Surely Allah is the Bestower of all provision, the Lord of all power, the Strong. 58 Those who do wrong will indeed come to the same end as their fellows (of old). So let them not ask Me to hasten (the punishment). 59 So woe to the unbelievers, for that day of theirs that they are promised. 60
