Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 and the severally severing 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
