ART THOU NOT aware of how far they who call God's messages in question have lost sight of the truth? 69 those who reject the Book and that with which We sent Our messengers shall soon know -- 70 when they shall have to carry the shackles and chains [of their own making] around their necks, 71 Into boiling water, then in the fire shall they be burned; 72 Then it will be said to them, "Where is that which you used to associate [with Him in worship] 73 Other than Allah?" They will say, "They have departed from us; rather, we did not used to invoke previously anything." Thus does Allah put astray the disbelievers. 74 (They will be told): “This is because while you were on earth you took delight in untruth and exulted in it. 75 Enter ye the gates of hell, to dwell therein. Evil is the habitation of the scornful. 76 Then have patience (O Muhammad). Lo! the promise of Allah is true. And whether we let thee see a part of that which We promise them, or (whether) We cause thee to die, still unto Us they will be brought back. 77 Indeed We sent many Messengers before you: of them there are some whose account We have narrated to you and there are others whose account We have not narrated to you. It did not lie in any Messenger's power to bring any Sign except with Allah's leave. So when Allah's decree came, the matter was decided with justice, and those steeped in error courted utter loss, then and there. 78
