The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
