In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 By the angels driving away. 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Quran). 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
