By no means! By the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
