He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 you attend to him, 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and in awe of God 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 olives, dates, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 Mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
