The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
