At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
