Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
