The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
