The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
