No, by the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 concerning the sinners, 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
