Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
