The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
