The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
