“O Noble Messengers, eat good clean things, and do good deeds; I know all that you do.” 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 But leave them alone, lost in their ignorance, until a [future] time. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 We do not impose on any soul what is beyond its capacity. We have the Book which speaks the truth and no injustice will be done to it. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or they say, “He is afflicted by a demon”; in fact he brought the Truth to them, and most of them dislike the Truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
