Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our revelations are recited to them, they turn back on their heels out of pride as if they did not hear them or their ears had been sealed off. Warn them of the painful torment. 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He hath created the heavens that ye behold without pillars, and hath cast into the earth firm mountains lest it move away with you; and He hath scattered thereon every kind of animal. And We send down water from the heaven and We make grow every kind of goodly growth therein. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
