The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
