The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
