A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 How many a city We have destroyed! Our might came upon it at night, or while they took their ease in the noontide, 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We were not absent. 7 And the weighing on that day (Day of Resurrection) will be the true (weighing). So as for those whose scale (of good deeds) will be heavy, they will be the successful (by entering Paradise). 8 And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
