Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 They used to say before: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they would be helped, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
