The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
