The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
