Do not kill your children because you fear poverty. We will provide for you and them. Killing them is a great sin. 31 Do not draw near to fornication, for it is an indecency, and its way is evil. 32 Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law). 33 Do not get close to the property of the orphans (unless it is for a good reason) until they are mature and strong. Keep your promise; you will be questioned about it. 34 (xii) Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with even scales. That is fair and better in consequence. 35 (O man), follow not that whereof thou hast no knowledge. Lo! the hearing and the sight and the heart - of each of these it will be asked. 36 Do not walk proudly in the earth. Indeed, you will never tear open the earth, nor attain the height of mountains. 37 All such things are sins and detestable in the sight of your Lord. 38 That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished. 39 What! Has your Lord favored you with sons and taken to Himself females from among the angels? Indeed, you utter a monstrous thing! 40
