The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe unto every slandering traducer, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9
