The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
