۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 and say, 'What, are our gods better, or he?' They cite not him to thee, save to dispute;. nay, but they are a people contentious. 58 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth. 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. He is truly your sworn enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous 67
