Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In an elevated garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and had not known my account. 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
