He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and who has fear of God, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruits and fodder 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyous 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
