Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
