We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 And guided them to the Straight Path. 118 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Thus do We reward the doers of good 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 Elias too was one of the Envoys; 123 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment),- 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 When We delivered him and his followers, all-- 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138
