And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
