The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
