Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 And let him share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 And remember You much. 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
